Aniekan Amos Akpan Esq.

Aniekan Amos Akpan obtained a first degree in Political Science from the University of Calabar in 1988, graduating as the best student in his department, before earning his Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Uyo in 1994. He was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1995 and has been in practice since.

He began at Okey Wali (SAN) & Co. in Port Harcourt before joining Abuka, Ajegbo, Ilogu & Nwaogu, where over five years he conducted litigation for company clients, coordinated the firm's Lagos, Port Harcourt and Abuja offices, and sat in at board meetings of client companies. He represented the National Fertilizer Company of Nigeria before the Justice Mustapha Akanbi Judicial Commission of Enquiry into the company's operations, and served on in-house teams working to salvage industrial clients in financial difficulty.

He has held office in the Nigerian Bar Association at branch and national level: Secretary of the Uyo Branch and a member of the NBA's National Executive Committee from 2007 to 2009, and Chairman of the Uyo Branch from 2015 to 2017. He chaired the Governing Council of the Eastern Bar Forum from 2023 to 2025 and has been a Notary Public for Nigeria since 2015.

His public service includes membership of the Judicial Commission of Enquiry into the Eket civil disturbances of November 1999, the Akwa Ibom State Law Revision Committee in 2012, and the Governing Council of the Federal Polytechnic, Ekowe.

His principal areas of practice are litigation, commercial practice, property, oil and gas, environmental law and dispute resolution. He leads the firm's client-service and practice-management responsibilities.
